UTM MOVES TO FIELD YOUTH IN THE FORTHCOMING BY-ELECTIONS

By Wilson Allan Phiri
As days to holding the by-elections are fast approaching, UTM Party has emphasised the need to put young people in influential positions to effectively achieve the Malawi 2063 agenda.
Its publicity Secretary Frank Mwenifumbo made the remarks in an interview with Timveni.
Timveni understands Malawi Electoral Commission is expected to hold the by-election in 4 constituencies and 1 ward on 26th October.
Mwenefumbo said, "There is lack of youth representation in parliament hence a deliberate move to field youth candidates during the by-elections."
Mwenifumbo said youths have suffered a huge blow in advocating for their rights to participate in decision making platforms.
Meanwhile, Political players have recently blamed political parties for" failing to provide deliberate policies" to see youths in top positions
