WOMAN AREESTED FOR KIDNAPPING AN INFANT

A three week old baby girl has been reunited with her parents after she was allegedly stolen by a stranger in Zomba district.
Police have arrested the suspect, an 18-year-old woman identified as Alimba Wyson.
According to Zomba Police Station spokesperson Patricia Sipiliano the accused tricked the baby’s mother that she was a niece to village headwoman Chisupe after meeting at a trading center.
“The two went to the mother’s house where the suspect stole the baby.” Spiliano explained.
The matter was reported to police whose investigations led to the arrest of Wyson who hails from Tangaleya Village, Traditional Authority Kuntumanje in Zomba district.
Police have since hailed the public for collaborative effort which led to recovery of the baby.
