#Timveni joins the rest of the world in observing #worldDayAgainstChildLabour under the theme “COVID-19: Protect children from child labour, now more than ever”
This year focus is on the impact of crisis on child labour. COVID-19 is having a huge impact on people’s lives and livelihoods. Unfortunately, children are often the first to suffer. The crisis can push millions of vulnerable children into child labour. Currently, there are an estimated 152 million children in child labour in the world, 72 million of which are in hazardous work. In Malawi, Child labour continues to affect an estimated 2.1 million children aged 5-17 years, 38% of this age group. What can we do to stop this abuse?
