YOUTH SHOULD LEAD IN SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT

An environmental expert has called on youths to take a leading role in waste management efforts.
The call comes as government is set to roll out a National Clean-Up Day campaign aimed at conserving the environment.
Speaking to Timveni, Godfrey Mfiti said the country stands to benefit from engaging its young people in taking care of the environment.
According to Mfiti, the campaign will address long standing challenges ranging from water and land pollution to air pollution.
Mfiti hailed government for showing political will in safeguarding the environment and for including the general public in the initiative.
President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to launch the National Clean-Up Day campaign on Thirteenth November in Lilongwe.
