 YOUTH  URGED TO BE VIGILANT IN FIGHT  AGAINST MALNUTRITION

The youth in the country have been urged to be in the forefront advocating for nutritious food, good health and food systems. 

The plea was made in Lilongwe during an orientation for advocates on Act for food, Act for Change campaign organized by Civil Society Organization Nutrition Alliance (CSONA) .

Speaking during the meeting, Act for food, Act for Change Campaign Coordinator in Malawi from CSONA, Mike Khunga, said the campaign will help the youth to demand from duty bearers what they want to see in their communities in order to deal with malnutrition with everybody having having access to food and health services.

Khunga said the 18 advocates that have been trained will make sure that the country is free from diseases that come due to lack of nutritious food.

According to Khunga the advocates will put to light food and malnutrition challenges the communities are facing and demand duty bearers for action.

He added that the program want to see that every Malawian has enough food and issues of malnutrition are dealt with.

One of the youth advocates Ishmael Amin said he will work with everyone in making sure that people have enough food and prevent malnutrition
