YOUTH URGED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE DURING THE FESTIVITIES

By Gerald Musambazi Viyuyi

Youths have been challenged to take a leading role in fostering the spirit of sharing with vulnerable groups during this festive season.

The appeal comes from a youth group called the Centre for Rights, Empowerment and Guidance for Orphans which cheered sick people and donated assorted stuff to orphans at Namalu village in the area of Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre.

Secretary General for the organization Lonjedzo Ngaiyaye said supporting and spending time with the less privileged is a priceless gift people can give during this period.

Despite facing financial hiccups in carrying out charity work, Ngaiyaye said the youth organization remains resolute in its outreach programs.

She called on all stakeholders to join the cause in order to uplift welfare of the less privileged in the country.

In his remarks, Village Headman Namalu thanked the youth group for the timely intervention saying the gesture has brought happiness amongst the vulnerable including children.
